WHAT THEY SAY
Bonus SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Love this watch, well developed and decent reserve electricity, it hasn’t discontinued yet, mine is just a little fast although not a big issue.
This is a great access into automatic wristwatches, the Seiko motion has a long history of consistency.
Great watch that arrived promptly. It exceeded my prospects. Fit and carry out was beautiful. Well packaged. The watch helps to keep excellent time right out of the box.
A hi-tech, 23 jewels, computerized movement identifies the Seiko Auto Sports and makes it its traditional position. This analog watch is supported by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra awareness. The watch also shows time frame and resists water for up to 100 feet. An ideal watch out for a circular of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless hyperlink bracelet will carry it set up.
SEIKO 5 – the meaning of the “5” A great marketer had the idea in the 70ies: to be a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the following 5 (five) attributes (thus the name SEIKO 5):
- Water resistant,
- Shock resistant,
Please be aware that some SEIKO 5’s are actually SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then the Caliber 7S25 is used. The only real difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of your day wheel.
Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is comparable to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.
Please note that these movements beat at a rate of 21’600 bph (beats per hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).
As a comparison, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.
Why will i mention these three movements?
Because they are within probably 80% of most inexpensive automatic designer watches. A market show that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by an increasing share of inexpensive China Made programmed movements An programmed watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanised watch, typically with a balance wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the movement of the wearer’s arm, instead of needing to be wound physically every day.
Whereas a quartz watch is driven by electricity, a mechanised watch is power by the mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.
THE CASE AND CRYSTAL
For SNK lovers who wish those watch circumstances were bigger, the wait is finally over. The SNZG15 actions a sturdy 42 mm which is 12 mm heavy. Which means its proportions are bigger than the old-style men’s wrist watches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge wrist watches you commonly see today.
The top case includes a brushed carry out, as well as polished end on the factors. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is extremely scratch resistant. It’s also water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The dial design seems a little busy, though it does have a fairly nice arrangement that makes everything still readable. The outside diamond ring shows the prominent numbered markings, while an inner ring provides military services time. The day and time frame info is included at the 3 o’clock position.
The hour and minute hands are substantial with a pointy end, while the second hand is just a nice sliver. The dark-colored dial offsets the hands and markers nicely. The lume is excellent, as it glows brightly for up to 7 or 8 hours.
The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch movements is accurate and reliable, with variances which range from -20 mere seconds to +40 a few moments a day. That doesn’t quite equate to the best Swiss and Japanese programmed movements, but also for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.
It offers a do better than rate of 21600 BPH, and that means you don’t get the unique ticking from a quartz watch that can be annoying at night when everything’s tranquil. You’ve got a 40-hour electric power reserve and that means you may take it off during the night without having to worry that it’ll stop working.
This is possibly the weakest website link in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s the reason why the SNZG15 is a few dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a little too hard initially, and you will need a while to break it in. It’ll get the job done sufficiently eventually though.
For a few, the nylon looks quite cheap so that it doesn’t match the calm appeal of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can certainly buy in stores and online, it will look far better.
PROS & CONS Bonus SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Basically, what we have here is an entry level military services field watch, and it’s really rugged functionality and design are excellent.
The dial provides info easily, and even at night there’s no problem telling enough time. The hands are brightly luminous in the dark, and it doesn’t fade for many hours.
The exactness is sufficient for many people.
The “provenance” (record), is nice, as it dates back to an earlier era when watches such as these were worn on the field of battle.
The size of the case is ideal for those with bigger wrists, but even for standard wrists it doesn’t really look too large.
For the nylon strap downside, for some that it is nice enough to wear as is. But also for the most part, people don’t buy the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can simply change the strap to NATO or leather and that should improve its look even more.
WHY I SHOP AT AMAZON
Bonus SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens -I put lots of time and effort into choosing where to shop. I have favorite stores for groceries. I have favorite stores for clothes. I’ve stores I detest. And, of course, there’s always online shopping.
Largely, there’s just Amazon.
I find myself at Amazon.com almost every day — even though I’m not shopping, I might be researching prices, reading reviews, upgrading my account or maybe dreaming. There’s almost always something in my own cart, just looking forward to a reason to officially place an order. It’s the internet version of windows shopping.
In the end, I’m most likely to make my final purchase with Amazon anyhow. Listed below are 7 explanations why it’s become my go-to store:

I remember when Amazon offered just literature, videos, and music. Now, will there be anything they don’t sell? I’ve bought electronics, gadgets, groceries, clothes, and even furniture. It truly is the one place I can go to order anything we need.
I’ve only acquired to cope with their returns a few times, but it’s a simple process. Complete the form through your accounts, print the RMA and shipping and delivery label, then mail the item back again. They’ll send a replacement or credit your bill when it arrives. A breeze.
