WHAT THEY SAY
Bonuses SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Love this watch, well built and decent reserve electricity, it has not stopped yet, mine is just a little fast but not a big concern.
This is a great entrance into automatic watches, the Seiko activity has a long history of trustworthiness.
Great watch that came up promptly. It exceeded my expectations. Fit and carry out was beautiful. Well packaged. The watch will keep excellent time right from the box.
A hi-tech, 23 jewels, automatic movement identifies the Seiko Automatic Sports and earns it its typical status. This analog watch is supported by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra visibility. The watch also shows night out and resists normal water for up to 100 feet. The perfect watch for a round of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless steel hyperlink bracelet will keep it set up.
SEIKO 5 – the meaning of the “5” An excellent marketer had the idea in the 70ies: to be a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the following 5 (five) features (thus the name SEIKO 5):
- Water resistant,
- Shock resistant,
Please note that some SEIKO 5’s are actually SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then your Caliber 7S25 is used. The only real difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of the day wheel.
Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Activities often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is similar to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.
Please note that these movements defeat for a price of 21’600 bph (beats each hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).
As a comparability, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.
Why must i point out these three moves?
Because they’re within probably 80% of most inexpensive automatic designer watches. A market talk about that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by an increasing talk about of inexpensive China Made programmed movements An programmed watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanical watch, typically with an equilibrium steering wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the action of the wearer’s arm, rather than having to be wound physically every day.
Whereas a quartz watch is driven by electricity, a mechanised watch is powered by way of a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.
THE CASE AND CRYSTAL
For SNK enthusiasts who wish those watch instances were bigger, the hang on is finally over. The SNZG15 steps a powerful 42 mm which is 12 mm thick. Which means its measurements are bigger than the old-style men’s designer watches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge designer watches you commonly see today.
The top circumstance includes a brushed end, as well as polished finish on the factors. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is incredibly scratch resistant. It’s also water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The dial design seems a lttle bit busy, though it does have a rather nice arrangement which makes everything still readable. The external band shows the dominant numbered markings, while an inner ring provides armed forces time. The day and particular date info is featured at the 3 o’clock position.
The hour and minute hands are substantial with a pointy end, while the second hand is just a good sliver. The dark-colored dial offsets the hands and markers nicely. The lume is excellent, as it glows brightly for 7 or 8 time.
The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch movement is accurate and reliable, with variances which range from -20 seconds to +40 mere seconds a day. It doesn’t quite equate to the best Swiss and Japanese automatic movements, but also for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.
It offers a beat rate of 21600 BPH, which means you do not get the particular ticking from a quartz watch that can be annoying during the night when everything’s noiseless. You’ve got a 40-hour electric power reserve so you can take it off during the night and never have to worry that it will stop working.
This is perhaps the weakest link in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s really the reason why the SNZG15 is a few dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a little too hard initially, and you’ll need some time to break it in. It will do the job well enough eventually though.
For some, the nylon looks quite cheap so that it doesn’t match the tranquil appeal of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can certainly buy in stores and online, it will look much better.
PROS & CONS Bonuses SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Basically, what we have here’s an basic level armed service field watch, and it’s really rugged features and design are great.
The dial provides info immediately, and even at night there’s no problem telling the time. The hands are brightly luminous at night, and it generally does not fade for most hours.
The accuracy and reliability is good enough for most people.
The “provenance” (background), is nice, as it goes back to a youthful era when wrist watches such as these were worn on the field of challenge.
How big is the situation is exquisite for people that have bigger wrists, but even for regular wrists it doesn’t really look too large.
As for the nylon strap drawback, for some that it is nice enough to wear as is. But also for the most part, people don’t choose the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can certainly change the strap to NATO or leather and that should improve its look even more.
WHY I SHOP AT AMAZON
Bonuses SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens -I put a lot of time and effort into choosing where you can shop. I have favorite stores for groceries. I’ve favorite stores for clothes. I have stores I detest. And, of course, almost always there is online shopping.
