WHAT THEY SAY
Clearence SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Love this watch, well developed and respectable reserve electric power, it has not stopped yet, mine is just a little fast but not a big issue.
This is a great entrance into automatic wrist watches, the Seiko movements has a long history of stability.
Great watch that came up promptly. It exceeded my objectives. Fit and finish was beautiful. Well packed. The watch maintains excellent time right out of the box.
A hi-tech, 23 jewels, automatic movement identifies the Seiko Automatic Sports and earns it its traditional status. This analog watch is backed by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra awareness. The watch also shows time frame and resists drinking water for 100 feet. The perfect watch out for a round of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless hyperlink bracelet will maintain it in place.
SEIKO 5 – the meaning of the “5” An excellent marketer had the theory in the 70ies: to be a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the next 5 (five) features (thus the name SEIKO 5):
- Water resistant,
- Shock resistant,
Please note that some SEIKO 5’s are actually SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then your Caliber 7S25 is used. The only difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of your day wheel.
Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is similar to typically the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.
Please note that all these movements defeat for a price of 21’600 bph (beats each hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).
As a assessment, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.
Why must i talk about these three moves?
Because they are within probably 80% of most inexpensive automatic wrist watches. A market talk about that is huge, yet challenged nowadays (2006) by a growing talk about of inexpensive China Made computerized movements An automated watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanised watch, typically with a balance wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the motion of the wearer’s arm, instead of needing to be wound personally every day.
Whereas a quartz watch is run by electricity, a mechanical watch is power by way of a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.
THE CASE AND CRYSTAL
For SNK fans who wish those watch circumstances were bigger, the put it off is finally over. The SNZG15 actions a powerful 42 mm which is 12 mm dense. Which means its sizes are bigger than the old-style men’s wrist watches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge wristwatches you commonly see today.
The top case comes with a brushed carry out, as well as polished finish on the sides. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is incredibly scratch resistant. It is also water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The dial design seems a lttle bit busy, although it does have a fairly nice arrangement that makes everything still readable. The outer diamond ring shows the prominent numbered markings, while an inner ring provides armed service time. The day and time info is featured at the 3 o’clock position.
The hour and minute hands are large with a pointy end, while the second hand is merely a nice sliver. The dark dial offsets the hands and markers perfectly. The lume is great, as it glows brightly for 7 or 8 hours.
The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch motion is exact and reliable, with variances which range from -20 mere seconds to +40 mere seconds a day. That doesn’t quite compare with the best Swiss and Japanese programmed movements, but also for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.
It provides a combat rate of 21600 BPH, so you do not get the specific ticking from a quartz watch that may be annoying during the night when everything’s tranquil. You’ve got a 40-hour electricity reserve so you may take it off at night without having to worry that it’ll stop working.
This is perhaps the weakest hyperlink in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s the reason why the SNZG15 is a few us dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a little too hard at first, and you will need a while to break it in. It will get the job done well enough eventually though.
For some, the nylon looks quite cheap so that it doesn’t match the silent appeal of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you may easily buy in stores and online, it will look much better.
PROS & CONS Clearence SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens
Basically, what we have here’s an entry level armed service field watch, and it’s really rugged operation and design are great.
The dial provides info easily, and even at night there is no problem telling enough time. The hands are brightly luminous at night, and it doesn’t fade for many hours.
The accuracy is sufficient for many people.
The “provenance” (history), is nice, as it dates back to a youthful era when wrist watches such as they were worn on the field of struggle.
The size of the situation is simply perfect for those with bigger wrists, but even for normal wrists it doesn’t really look too big.
For the nylon strap drawback, for some it’s actually nice enough to wear as is. But also for the most part, people don’t choose the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can simply change the strap to NATO or leather and that should improve its look even more.
WHY I SHOP AT AMAZON
Clearence SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens -I put lots of time and effort into choosing where you can shop. I’ve favorite stores for groceries. I’ve favorite stores for clothes. I have stores I detest. And, of course, there’s always online shopping.
Mainly, there’s just Amazon.
I find myself at Amazon.com nearly every day — even when I’m not shopping, I might be researching prices, reading reviews, upgrading my account or perhaps dreaming. There’s almost always something in my cart, just waiting for a reason to officially place an order. It is the internet version of windowpane shopping.
In the long run, I’m probably to make my last purchase with Amazon anyways. Here are 7 reasons why it’s become my go-to store:
After many years of researching prices and returning to Amazon, I’ve finally realized there are a few things they’ll always offer at the lowest price. In fact, I have a couple of things I’ll only buy on Amazon. They also offer covered price fits, where they’ll lower the price on items others are providing on sale.
Super Saver Shipping and delivery is my favorite. With a minimal bare minimum purchase of $25, I don’t believe I’ve ever paid for a delivery. It’s fun to get plans arriving on my doorstep without paying a penny for the service.
I remember when Amazon offered just catalogs, movies, and music. Now, is there anything they don’t really sell? I’ve bought consumer electronics, toys, groceries, clothes, and even furniture. It really is the one place I can go to order anything we are in need of.
I’ve only had to deal with their returns a few times, but it’s a very simple process. Fill out the proper execution through your bank account, print the RMA and shipping and delivery label, then mail the item back. They’ll send a replacement or credit your consideration as soon as it arrives. A breeze.
I take advantage of my wishlist not only to offer ideas for birthdays & getaways, but it also helps me keep track of things I wish to buy when it matches into our budget.
