Product description

SEIKO 5 – this is of the “5” An excellent marketer had the idea in the 70ies: to be a SEIKO 5, the watch really needs the following 5 (five) attributes (thus the name SEIKO 5):

  1. Automatic,
  2. Water resistant,
  3. Shock resistant,
  4. Date,
  5. Day.

Please be aware that some SEIKO 5’s are in fact SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then your Caliber 7S25 is used. The one difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of your day wheel.

Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Activities often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is similar to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.

Please note that all these movements beat for a price of 21’600 bph (beats per hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).

As a comparison, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.

Why should i discuss these three actions?

Because they are within probably 80% of most inexpensive automatic designer watches. A market show that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by an increasing share of inexpensive China Made programmed movements An programmed watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanised watch, typically with a balance steering wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the movement of the wearer’s arm, instead of needing to be wound by hand every day.

Whereas a quartz watch is driven by electricity, a mechanical watch is powered with a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.

THE CASE AND CRYSTAL

For SNK lovers who wish those watch conditions were bigger, the wait is finally over. The SNZG15 steps a robust 42 mm and it is 12 mm heavy. That means its proportions are bigger than the old-style men’s wrist watches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge designer watches you commonly see today.

The top circumstance comes with a brushed end, as well as refined finish on the edges. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is extremely scratch resistant. It’s also water resistant up to 100 meters.

THE DIAL

The dial design seems a lttle bit busy, although it does have a rather nice arrangement which makes everything still readable. The external engagement ring shows the prominent numbered markings, while an interior ring provides armed forces time. Your day and day info is highlighted at the 3 o’clock position.

The hour and minute hands are large with a pointy end, while the second hand is just a good sliver. The dark dial offsets the hands and markers effectively. The lume is excellent, as it glows brightly for up to 7 or 8 time.

THE MOVEMENT

The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch motion is accurate and reliable, with variances ranging from -20 moments to +40 mere seconds a day. It doesn’t quite compare with the best Swiss and Japanese automatic movements, but also for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.

It includes a combat rate of 21600 BPH, which means you do not get the distinct ticking from a quartz watch that can be annoying at night when everything’s peaceful. You’ve got a 40-hour electric power reserve which means you may take it off at night without having to worry that it will stop working.

THE STRAP

This is perhaps the weakest hyperlink in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s really the reason why the SNZG15 is a few us dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a bit too hard at first, and you’ll need time to break it in. It’ll get the job done well enough eventually though.

For some, the nylon looks quite cheap so it doesn’t match the silent selling point of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can easily buy to get and online, it’ll look much better.

PROS & CONS SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens Closing Down

Basically, what we have here is an basic level armed forces field watch, and it’s rugged efficiency and design are great.

  • The dial provides info easily, and even at night there’s no problem telling enough time. The hands are brightly luminous at night, and it generally does not fade for most hours.

  • The exactness is good enough for many people.

  • The “provenance” (history), is nice, as it goes back to a youthful era when wristwatches such as these were worn on the field of battle.

  • The size of the case is ideal for people that have bigger wrists, but even for ordinary wrists it generally does not really look too big.

For the nylon strap downside, for some that it is nice enough to wear as is. But for the most part, people don’t buy the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You may easily change the strap to NATO or leather and which should improve its look even more.

WHY I SHOP AT AMAZON

SEIKO 5 SPORTS Automatic Strap Watch SNZG15J1 Mens Closing Down -I put a lot of time and work into choosing where you can shop. I’ve favorite stores for groceries. I have favorite stores for clothes. I have stores I detest. And, of course, there’s always online shopping.

Generally, there’s just Amazon.

I find myself at Amazon.com almost every day — even though I’m not shopping, I might be researching prices, reading reviews, updating my account or simply dreaming. There’s nearly always something in my own cart, just looking forward to grounds to officially place an order. It is the internet version of screen shopping.

In the long run, I’m most likely to make my final purchase with Amazon anyways. Here are 7 explanations why it’s become my go-to store:

1.Low Prices:

After years of researching prices and returning to Amazon, I’ve finally noticed there are just some things they’ll always offer at the cheapest price. In fact, I have a couple of things I’ll only buy on Amazon. They also offer covered price complements, where they’ll lower the price on items others are providing on sale.

Super Saver Delivery is my favorite. With a minimal least purchase of $25, I don’t believe I’ve ever paid for a delivery. It’s fun to get packages arriving on my doorstep without paying a penny for the service.

3.One-Stop Shopping:

I recall when Amazon offered just books, movies, and music. Now, will there be anything they don’t really sell? I’ve bought gadgets, playthings, groceries, clothes, and even furniture. It really is the main one place I could go to order anything we are in need of.
