WHAT THEY SAY

Love this watch, well built and reasonable reserve vitality, it hasn’t discontinued yet, mine is just a little fast although not a big issue.
That is a great accessibility into automatic wrist watches, the Seiko movements has a long history of reliability.
Great watch that arrived promptly. It exceeded my targets. Fit and finish was beautiful. Well packed. The watch maintains excellent time right from the box.
A hi-tech, 23 jewels, automated movement identifies the Seiko Automatic Sports and makes it its common status. This analog watch is supported by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra awareness. The watch also shows time frame and resists water for 100 feet. The perfect watch out for a circular of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless steel link bracelet will maintain it set up.
SEIKO 5 – this is of the “5” An excellent marketer had the idea in the 70iha sido: to be always a SEIKO 5, the watch really needs the next 5 (five) features (thus the name SEIKO 5):
- Water resistant,
- Shock resistant,
Please be aware that some SEIKO 5’s are actually SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then the Caliber 7S25 is used. The sole difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of your day wheel.
Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Athletics often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is comparable to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels instead of the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.
Please note that these movements defeat at a level of 21’600 bph (beats per hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).
As a evaluation, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.
Why must i mention these three moves?
Because they’re found in probably 80% of all inexpensive automatic wrist watches. A market show that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by a growing share of inexpensive China Made automated movements An programmed watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanical watch, typically with a balance wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the action of the wearer’s arm, rather than having to be wound manually every day.
Whereas a quartz watch is run by electricity, a mechanised watch is powered by a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.
THE CASE AND CRYSTAL
For SNK supporters who want those watch conditions were bigger, the wait is finally over. The SNZG15 measures a powerful 42 mm and is 12 mm solid. Which means its proportions are bigger than the old-style men’s designer watches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge watches you commonly see today.
The top case comes with a brushed finish, as well as refined finish off on the factors. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is incredibly scratch resistant. It is also water resistant up to 100 meters.
The dial design seems somewhat busy, although it does have a fairly nice arrangement that makes everything still readable. The external wedding ring shows the visible numbered markings, while an inner ring provides armed service time. Your day and night out info is included at the 3 o’clock position.
The hour and minute hands are substantial with a pointy end, as the second hand is merely a good sliver. The dark-colored dial offsets the hands and markers nicely. The lume is excellent, as it glows brightly for up to 7 or 8 time.
The automatic mechanised 7S36 watch movements is correct and reliable, with variances ranging from -20 moments to +40 seconds a day. It doesn’t quite compare with the best Swiss and Japanese automated movements, but for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.
It provides a defeat rate of 21600 BPH, and that means you don’t get the unique ticking from a quartz watch that may be annoying during the night when everything’s noiseless. There is a 40-hour vitality reserve which means you may take it off at night and never have to worry that it’ll stop working.
This is perhaps the weakest link in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s really the key reason why the SNZG15 is a few us dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a lttle bit too hard initially, and you will need some time to break it in. It will get the job done well enough eventually though.
For a few, the nylon appears quite cheap so that it doesn’t match the calm selling point of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can certainly buy in stores and online, it’ll look much better.
PROS & CONS seiko 5 sports finder
Basically, what we have here is an basic level military services field watch, and it’s rugged operation and design are excellent.
The dial provides info commonly, and even during the night there is no problem telling the time. The hands are brightly luminous in the dark, and it doesn’t fade for many hours.
The precision is good enough for many people.
The “provenance” (record), is nice, as it dates back to an earlier era when wrist watches such as we were holding worn on the field of fight.
How big is the case is perfect for those with bigger wrists, but even for normal wrists it doesn’t really look too big.
For the nylon strap disadvantage, for some that it is nice enough to wear as is. But for the most part, people don’t choose the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can certainly change the strap to NATO or leather and that should improve its look even more.
