WHAT THEY SAY
seiko 5 sports serial number
Love this watch, well built and respectable reserve ability, it has not quit yet, mine is just a little fast but not a big issue.
That is a great admittance into automatic designer watches, the Seiko activity has a long history of stability.
Great watch that arrived promptly. It exceeded my prospects. Fit and finish off was beautiful. Well packaged. The watch continues excellent time right out of the box.
A hi-tech, 23 jewels, automatic movement identifies the Seiko Auto Sports and earns it its common position. This analog watch is supported by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra presence. The watch also shows time frame and resists drinking water for up to 100 feet. The perfect watch for a round of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless steel website link bracelet will carry it in place.
SEIKO 5 – this is of the “5” An excellent marketer had the idea in the 70iha sido: to be a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the next 5 (five) features (thus the name SEIKO 5):
- Water resistant,
- Shock resistant,
Please note that some SEIKO 5’s are actually SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then your Caliber 7S25 can be used. The only real difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of the day wheel.
Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports activities often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is comparable to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels instead of the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.
Please note that these movements conquer at a rate of 21’600 bph (beats each hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).
As a comparison, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.
Why do I speak about these three motions?
Because they are found in probably 80% of all inexpensive automatic wrist watches. A market show that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by a growing share of inexpensive China Made computerized movements An automatic watch (also known as a self-winding watch) is a mechanised watch, typically with an equilibrium wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the movement of the wearer’s arm, instead of having to be wound physically every day.
Whereas a quartz watch is driven by electricity, a mechanical watch is powered by the mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.
THE CASE AND CRYSTAL
For SNK supporters who want those watch situations were bigger, the delay is finally over. The SNZG15 measures a solid 42 mm and is also 12 mm heavy. Which means its dimensions are bigger than the old-style men’s wristwatches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge watches you commonly see today.
The top circumstance comes with a brushed finish, as well as refined end on the sides. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is incredibly scratch resistant. It is also water resistant up to 100 meters.
The dial design seems somewhat busy, though it does have a rather nice arrangement that makes everything still readable. The external band shows the prominent numbered markings, while an internal ring provides armed forces time. Your day and time frame info is featured at the 3 o’clock position.
The hour and minute hands are considerable with a pointy end, while the second hand is just a nice sliver. The black dial offsets the hands and markers beautifully. The lume is excellent, as it glows brightly for 7 or 8 time.
The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch motion is exact and reliable, with variances which range from -20 moments to +40 a few moments a day. That doesn’t quite compare with the best Swiss and Japanese programmed movements, but for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.
It includes a combat rate of 21600 BPH, which means you do not get the unique ticking from a quartz watch that may be annoying at night when everything’s noiseless. There is a 40-hour electric power reserve so you may take it off at night without having to worry that it’ll stop working.
This is possibly the weakest hyperlink in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s really the reason why the SNZG15 is a few dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a bit too hard at first, and you will need some time to break it in. It will get the job done well enough eventually though.
For some, the nylon looks quite cheap so it doesn’t match the tranquil appeal of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can certainly buy in stores and online, it’ll look much better.
PROS & CONS seiko 5 sports serial number
Basically, what we’ve here is an entry level military field watch, and it’s rugged functionality and design are great.
The dial provides info readily, and even during the night there is no problem telling enough time. The hands are brightly luminous in the dark, and it doesn’t fade for many hours.
The accuracy and reliability is good enough for most people.
The “provenance” (record), is nice, as it goes back to a youthful era when wristwatches such as we were holding worn on the field of challenge.
The size of the situation is exquisite for those with bigger wrists, but even for normal wrists it doesn’t really look too big.
For the nylon strap drawback, for some that it is nice enough to wear as is. But for the most part, people don’t buy the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can certainly change the strap to NATO or leather and that should improve its look even more.
