WHAT THEY SAY
seiko orologio automatico submariner 5 sports nero uomo
Love this watch, well built and respectable reserve ability, it hasn’t quit yet, mine is just a little fast however, not a big issue.
That is a great entry into automatic designer watches, the Seiko motion has an extended history of consistency.
Great watch that arrived promptly. It exceeded my expectations. Fit and surface finish was beautiful. Well packed. The watch maintains excellent time right out of the box.
A hi-tech, 23 jewels, automated movement identifies the Seiko Automatic Sports and makes it its basic status. This analog watch is guaranteed by 23 jewels; the hands are luminous and silver-toned while baton hour-markers add extra awareness. The watch also shows day and resists water for 100 feet. An ideal watch out for a round of beach volleyball, the silver-toned stainless website link bracelet will keep it set up.
SEIKO 5 – the meaning of the “5” An excellent marketer had the theory in the 70iha sido: to be always a SEIKO 5, the watch has to have the following 5 (five) features (thus the name SEIKO 5):
- Water resistant,
- Shock resistant,
Please be aware that some SEIKO 5’s are in fact SEIKO 4’s, if the “Day” function is omitted, then your Caliber 7S25 can be used. The sole difference to the normally found 7S26 is the omission of your day wheel.
Also re-issues of SEIKO 5 Sports often use the 7S36 caliber. Again the 7S36 is similar to the most popular 7S26, yet it features 23 Jewels as opposed to the 21 Jewels in the 7S26.
Please note that all these movements overcome at a rate of 21’600 bph (beats per hour) or 6 bps (beats per second).
As a evaluation, an ETA 2824-2 beats at 28’800 bph or 8 bps. A Miyota 82xx beats at 21’600 bph.
Why should i speak about these three motions?
Because they are within probably 80% of most inexpensive automatic designer watches. A market share that is huge, yet challenged these days (2006) by an increasing talk about of inexpensive China Made computerized movements An automated watch (also called a self-winding watch) is a mechanical watch, typically with a balance steering wheel escapement, whose mainspring is wound by the movement of the wearer’s arm, rather than having to be wound manually every day.
Whereas a quartz watch is power by electricity, a mechanical watch is driven with a mainspring which must be rewound for the watch to keep time.
THE CASE AND CRYSTAL
For SNK followers who want those watch instances were bigger, the wait is finally over. The SNZG15 actions a powerful 42 mm and it is 12 mm dense. Which means its proportions are bigger than the old-style men’s designer watches, but is noticeably smaller than the outrageously huge designer watches you commonly see today.
The top circumstance comes with a brushed finish, as well as polished finish off on the edges. The crystal is Seiko’s own hardlex crystal, which is extremely scratch resistant. It is also water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The dial design seems a lttle bit busy, although it does have a rather nice arrangement that makes everything still readable. The exterior wedding ring shows the prominent numbered markings, while an internal ring provides armed forces time. The day and night out info is featured at the 3 o’clock position.
The hour and minute hands are substantial with a pointy end, as the second hand is just a nice sliver. The dark-colored dial offsets the hands and markers very well. The lume is excellent, as it glows brightly for 7 or 8 time.
The automatic mechanical 7S36 watch movements is correct and reliable, with variances ranging from -20 a few moments to +40 mere seconds a day. That doesn’t quite compare with the best Swiss and Japanese programmed movements, but for an entry level watch it’s more than sufficient.
It includes a whip rate of 21600 BPH, so you do not get the unique ticking from a quartz watch that can be annoying during the night when everything’s calm. There is a 40-hour electricity reserve which means you may take it off during the night and never have to worry that it will stop working.
This is perhaps the weakest link in the Seiko 5 SNZG15, and it’s really the reason why the SNZG15 is a few us dollars cheaper than the Seiko 5 SNZG13. The 22 mm nylon strap can feel a little too hard at first, and you’ll need some time to break it in. It will get the job done sufficiently eventually though.
For a few, the nylon looks quite cheap so it doesn’t match the calm appeal of the Seiko 5 SNZG15. But with NATO or leather straps you can easily buy to get and online, it will look much better.
PROS & CONS seiko orologio automatico submariner 5 sports nero uomo
Basically, what we’ve here is an entry level military services field watch, and it’s rugged features and design are great.
The dial provides info readily, and even at night there’s no problem telling the time. The hands are brightly luminous at night, and it doesn’t fade for many hours.
The reliability is sufficient for most people.
The “provenance” (record), is nice, as it dates back to an earlier era when designer watches such as these were worn on the field of struggle.
How big is the truth is ideal for those with bigger wrists, but even for normal wrists it generally does not really look too big.
As for the nylon strap disadvantage, for some it’s actually nice enough to wear as is. But also for the most part, people don’t choose the Seiko 5 SNZG15 for the strap. You can simply change the strap to NATO or leather and that should improve its look even more.
